Despite Internet access improving for all business over the past ten years; Internet outages can occur from time to time. And for this reason, Retail Express has developed the most robust, reliable, and practical Offline POS solution available in the market.

Our Offline POS is designed as an emergency feature to allow your business to continue serving customers in the rare event that you lose internet connection.

Our Offline POS is designed as an emergency feature to allow your business to continue serving customers in the rare event that you lose internet connection.

What it does do:

Offline POS is self-updating, there is no need to upgrade once installed. Any data that is stored on your local machine by Offline POS is secured and encrypted. If you do lose your internet connection, you are still able to perform the following functions:

  1. Login to POS
  2. Create a Cash & Carry sale, including
    1. Scan & Sell products
    2. Search products
    3. Discount products
    4. Search & Create customers as normal
    5. Take Payments
    6. Product Receipts and Invoices
  3. Lookup Sales made while Offline
  4. Lookup Products
  5. Lookup Customers
  6. Create Blank Refunds
  7. Use Money In / Out
  8. Receipt Printer (if the issue is not your Local Network)
  9. Integrated EFTPOS (if the issue is not your Internet Connection)

What it doesn't do:

  1. Handle un-fulfilled sales transactions (Layby’s, sales sourced from other locations etc)
  2. Cash Up (online cash-up is also unavailable if there are offline sales orders still awaiting upload to the cloud)
  3. Stock Transfers
  4. Voucher Lookup module
  5. Historical Sales Lookup including ‘Looking Up a sale to refund’
  6. Inventory Levels
  7. Back office functions (unless the issue is specifically only affecting Retail Express POS)

Minimum System Requirements

  • Microsoft Windows 7 or higher (Required) OR Server Environment: Server 2008 SP2 or higher (Required)
  • RAM: 4GB RAM (Recommended 8GB or More)
  • Storage: 20GB+ free disk space (SSD recommended)
  • Processor: Intel Core i3 Dual Core 2.4 GHz or higher (Intel ATOM Quad Core 1.33 GHz or higher) with 4GB RAM or higher.
  • Network: Any network interface (including wireless) running IPv4 (Recommended Gigabit Ethernet)
  • Internet Connection: 512Kbps down/512Kbps up (Recommended 2Mbps+ down/1Mbps+ up)
  • Administrative Privileges to the Offline Server and Installation
  • You must be online to initially install Offline POS. You cannot initially install if there is no internet connection.
