A new study by consulting company Accenture has revealed that 21% of consumers surveyed expressed an interest in increasing their purchasing from a physical store this year, as opposed to 9% last year. The percentage of products purchased online is undeniably growing, but perhaps not to the detriment of physical stores – a least not to the extent that some analysts would suggest.
An impressive 40% of consumers surveyed rated ‘improving the in-store shopping experience’ as a key driver of their increased spending. Now more than ever, physical stores need to do what no Online store can do – that is, provide an enticing, exciting experience for shoppers, with all of the positives that consumers expect when they enter a store.
