Founder, Aaron’s story

Some 18 years ago, Founder and Head of Retail Express, Aaron Blackman, was a multi-store retailer with a steely focus on expanding his business empire. But he had a problem. None of the POS systems on the market gave him the visibility and control he needed — and all were ill-equipped to drive sustained business growth.

"As a growing Australian retailer, I was consistently disappointed with the features and support I got from POS system vendors. They promised the world and delivered mediocrity," said Aaron.

All the POS systems available were running off servers. The data was never live, so it was always outdated. There were constant system crashes and data polling issues. They created endless headaches — instead of enabling growth. And the vendor support was horrible."

Aaron knew he had to do something. Drawing on his challenges of managing a multi-store retail business and consulting hundreds of other retailers, he set out to design the world's first cloud-based retail management platform — a modern way to tackle age-old retail problems.
