At the end of October 2014, all credit card transactions requiring verification will require a PIN to be entered to complete the purchase, and signatures will no longer be a valid way to authorise a credit card payment. The phasing out of signatures started on 1 August 2014. Contactless payments under $100, over the phone sales and online transaction will continue to be both signature and PIN-free.
